Chris Henderly grew up on the “mean streets” of Riverview, Michigan, where he developed a lifelong passion for music in all its forms. His musical journey has taken him through the hard rock and metal explosion of the 1980s, with favorites like Van Halen, Dokken, and Guns N’ Roses, before embracing the alternative movement of the 1990s through bands such as Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, the Pixies, and R.E.M.
His appreciation for music doesn’t stop there. Chris has always enjoyed traditional country legends like Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, and Garth Brooks, while also finding inspiration in timeless classics from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Bob Seger. Even hip-hop icons such as Beastie Boys, De La Soul, and Run-DMC have contributed to the diverse musical influences that have shaped his tastes and style.
For Chris, music is about more than genres. It’s about connection.
“This band, Downriver Riot, has been a wonderful extension of friendship. Playing music together is a gift!” says Chris. “I want to make sure we’re providing the best possible time for the hardworking people in our community.”
Whether on stage or in the audience, Chris believes great music brings people together, and he’s proud to be part of a band dedicated to creating memorable experiences for every crowd.

A lifelong music obsessive and a relative newcomer to actually making it, Dave LaBounty picked up the bass about a year and a half ago and quickly found a home in Downriver Riot. His musical DNA runs through classic rock, punk, and post-punk, with Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground leaving a permanent mark. He holds down the low end, adds backing vocals, and brings his own energy and attitude to the band.
